The Last Layer

As interior designers, we love making spaces look beautiful and feel functional. We think about color palettes, lighting, furniture, and flow- all of those details matter. But at the end of the day, none of it is what truly makes a house feel like home.

What we like to call the last layer is what really brings life into a space- and that layer is YOU.

It’s your memories, your photos on the shelf, the smooth rock you picked up on a walk by the creek, your child’s favorite toy left out on the rug, your grandmother’s bowl that’s been passed down for decades, or the set of glasses your parents received on their wedding day. These aren’t just objects- they’re reminders of who you are and what you love. They hold your story.

When building a new home or starting fresh with a remodel, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of choosing fixtures, flooring, and finishes. But the last layer is what makes everything feel complete. It’s the personal touches woven into the design that make the space uniquely yours.

Design gives the canvas- but you give it soul.
